WildyNess Raises Pre-Seed Funding to Drive Authentic Tourism in North Africa and the Gulf

WildyNess, a Tunisian startup reshaping how travelers connect with local communities, has completed a pre-seed round backed by Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network. Founded in 2021 by Achraf Aouadi and Rym Bourguiba, the platform links tourists with small-scale entrepreneurs who offer authentic, sustainable experiences. The funds will drive expansion into new markets and improve digital tools as the company seeks to redefine responsible travel across North Africa and the Gulf.

Redefining Travel Through Community and Sustainability

For years, North Africa’s tourism industry has relied on mass-market platforms that emphasize volume over value. These traditional models often overlook local communities and reduce cultural interaction to standardized tours. WildyNess offers a different approach. The Tunisian startup connects travelers directly with micro-entrepreneurs who co-create experiences that reflect local identity, craftsmanship and environmental stewardship.

This business model comes at a time when global travelers are increasingly seeking experiences that are authentic and socially responsible. According to the founders, the platform not only enriches the travel experience but also provides sustainable income for small tourism businesses and artisans who are often excluded from global travel supply chains.

Since its official launch in 2022, WildyNess has recorded over $300,000 in organic sales without relying on paid advertising. This early traction highlights a strong market appetite for travel that creates value for both visitors and host communities.

The pre-seed funding, co-led by Bridging Angels and the African Diaspora Network, signals investor confidence in this growing niche of impact-driven tourism. Although the funding amount remains undisclosed, both investor groups bring valuable networks and credibility to the young company. WildyNess describes the raise as a milestone for North Africa’s startup ecosystem, particularly for a B2C and B2B2C marketplace focused on sustainable travel at such an early stage.

WildyNess’s B2B2C structure allows it to serve both end consumers and travel industry partners. This dual approach means the platform can attract conscious travelers while also offering local agencies and hospitality businesses curated, sustainable inventory. The result is a model that blends social impact with commercial scalability.

Expansion, Technology and Regional Impact

With fresh capital secured, WildyNess is preparing for its next phase of growth. The startup plans to expand into Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates, a move that will test the scalability of its model in new cultural and regulatory environments.

The company is also investing in its technology infrastructure to improve the platform’s efficiency, safety and user experience. Upcoming product upgrades will focus on simplifying trip discovery and booking while ensuring community-led experiences remain at the heart of the offering. For travelers, that means more transparency and trust. For local partners, it means better tools to showcase and manage their experiences.

Co-founder Achraf Aouadi said the new investment validates WildyNess’s belief that “future growth in travel comes from authenticity and impact rather than volume.” He added that the company’s growth without advertising spend reflects a strong desire among travelers to form real connections rather than chase mass-market attractions.

Investors echoed this confidence, citing the founders’ disciplined execution, customer-centric approach and clear vision for sustainable tourism as key reasons for their support.

Beyond its business objectives, WildyNess represents a broader shift in the MENA entrepreneurship landscape. Tunisia and the wider region are often recognized for fintech and mobility startups but the rise of WildyNess highlights the untapped potential in tourism technology. By combining digital innovation with community impact, the company opens the door for more startups in the region to pursue sustainable tourism models.

Balancing Growth and Authenticity

As WildyNess scales across borders, the company faces important challenges. Expanding into new markets will require strong local partnerships, consistent experience standards and robust technology to manage growth. The founders are aware that preserving authenticity while growing quickly is not easy but it is essential to maintaining their brand’s integrity.

The startup’s ability to balance scale with community trust will determine how well it performs in new territories. Each new country will bring different expectations, regulations and consumer habits, requiring localized onboarding and continuous engagement with host communities.

Still, the opportunity ahead is significant. With global travelers and tour operators increasingly turning toward sustainability and cultural immersion, WildyNess stands at the intersection of two powerful trends: digital travel innovation and social impact entrepreneurship.

If its model continues to deliver measurable benefits to local creators while offering travelers richer, more responsible experiences, WildyNess could redefine how tourism evolves across the MENA region.
