WildMango has entered into a partnership with OpenAI to expand the availability of artificial intelligence technologies across Africa. Under the agreement, WildMango will act as one of OpenAI’s first SMB partners on the continent, supporting businesses, developers and institutions to adopt and scale AI solutions. The collaboration is expected to make it easier for organisations to access and use AI tools in their day to day operations.
The initiative comes at a time when demand for AI solutions across Africa is rising, supported by growing digital infrastructure, active startup ecosystems and public sector transformation. By improving access to advanced tools, the partnership is expected to help organisations increase productivity, strengthen decision making and improve service delivery across industries.
Expanding Access and Building Local Capacity
As part of the collaboration, WildMango will lead the distribution, integration and localisation of OpenAI’s technologies across African markets. The focus is on ensuring that AI tools are not only available but also relevant to local business environments. This includes adapting solutions to fit regional languages, industries and user needs, making them more practical for everyday use.
“Our partnership with OpenAI positions Africa at the forefront of the global AI transformation,” said Serah Katusya, Co-Founder, WildMango. “We are striving to make sure Africa is not left behind. We are not just expanding access; our ambition is to shape how AI is deployed and used in African contexts.”
Beyond access, the partnership will also focus on building local capacity. Developers, enterprises and policymakers will receive training and resources to support the effective use of AI tools. This approach is aimed at strengthening local expertise and enabling African stakeholders to develop and scale their own solutions using global technologies.
Driving Innovation and Responsible AI Growth
The collaboration will also support broader ecosystem development by working with corporates, startups and research institutions to encourage innovation. By bringing different players together, the partnership is expected to support the development of new products and services that address both local and global challenges.
“Expanding our capabilities in Africa is important to OpenAI,” said Ben Tyson, Partner Enablement Manager, OpenAI. “This partnership with WildMango will enable companies, startups, developers and other institutions to leverage our world class models to accelerate growth, efficiency and impact.”
He added that adopting new technology requires both technical expertise and a clear understanding of how businesses operate, noting that WildMango’s experience in African markets provides a strong foundation for long term success.
The partnership will also promote responsible AI deployment, with a focus on safety, inclusivity and long term societal benefit. As adoption increases, both organisations aim to ensure that the use of AI aligns with principles that support sustainable growth and build trust across markets.
