Tunisia is strengthening its position in green innovation as a new group of startups prepares to participate in GITEX Africa 2026. Selected under the Greenov’i project, these companies will showcase practical solutions that support sustainability and industrial efficiency. Their participation reflects a broader effort to promote eco-friendly businesses and connect them with opportunities for growth, investment and regional expansion. As global demand for sustainable solutions increases, initiatives like this are helping local startups move from early-stage development to market-ready impact.

The selected startups include HyO-Tec, Magnus Data, MONSAPO and Voltwise Solutions, each offering solutions that address key environmental and industrial challenges while supporting business efficiency.

Driving Innovation Through Green Solutions

Each of the selected startups brings a unique approach to solving environmental and industrial problems.

HyO-Tec focuses on renewable energy by developing scalable systems for the production and storage of green hydrogen and oxygen. The company is working to improve industrial processes through clean energy solutions, with a long-term goal of supporting a hydrogen-based economy. Its vision is to become a global leader in hydrogen technology, contributing to decarbonization while driving economic growth. The company’s strategy is built on continuous investment in research and development, sustainable practices and strong collaboration with industry partners.

Magnus Data is addressing efficiency in manufacturing through an AI-driven digital platform. By helping manufacturers turn raw data into actionable insights, the company enables businesses to optimize operations, reduce costs and improve productivity. This creates opportunities for smarter production systems and supports companies looking to remain competitive in a changing industrial landscape.

MONSAPO is offering a circular solution by converting used cooking oil into eco-friendly cleaning products. Its automated and monitored machines are designed for large-scale users such as hotels, restaurant chains, factories and collective catering services. The company helps businesses reduce cleaning supply costs by up to 40 percent, while removing the need for complex oil collection logistics and regulatory challenges. At the same time, it provides safe and environmentally friendly cleaning products that protect both users and the environment.

Voltwise Solutions is focusing on smart infrastructure for public spaces. The company designs and develops automated solutions such as smart charging stations and also transforms traditional machines into connected equipment. This improves performance, enhances user experience and supports the transition toward more efficient and connected systems. Its approach is centered on delivering solutions tailored to the specific needs of its clients.

Together, these startups show how innovation can deliver both environmental and economic value, while responding to real market needs.

Greenov’i’s Role in Supporting Sustainable Growth

The participation of these startups is part of the broader Greenov’i project, a €12 million initiative launched in 2023 to support Tunisia’s ecological transition over a five-year period. The project focuses on developing eco-businesses and promoting the adoption of low-carbon, sustainable and inclusive production methods.

Greenov’i is funded by the European Union in Tunisia under the “Green & Sustainable Tunisia” program. It is implemented by Expertise France in collaboration with CITET Tunisia, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Economy and Planning. This coordinated approach is designed to strengthen the ecosystem for green entrepreneurship and ensure long-term impact.

By supporting startups and connecting them to platforms like GITEX Africa, the initiative is helping transform innovative ideas into scalable businesses. It also provides entrepreneurs with the exposure needed to access new markets, attract investment and build strategic partnerships.

GITEX Africa, as the largest tech event on the continent, brings together global innovators, startups, and industry leaders to drive digital transformation. For Tunisian startups, participation offers a valuable opportunity to present their solutions on a continental stage and engage with key players across industries.

As these companies prepare for the event, their participation reflects a broader shift toward sustainable business practices in Tunisia and across Africa. With the right support and visibility, these startups are well positioned to contribute to economic growth while advancing the transition to a greener and more sustainable future.
