Seventeen women-led businesses have been selected to receive operational support under the third cohort of the Women Go Green program, an initiative focused on strengthening green and sustainable entrepreneurship in Tunisia. The selected founders are working across sectors that are critical to the country’s ecological transition, including green, blue, circular and sustainable technologies.

This new cohort reflects both the growing number of women entering environmentally focused entrepreneurship and the need for structured support to help their ideas grow into strong and viable businesses. Through Women Go Green, these entrepreneurs will receive tailored assistance designed to help them overcome common challenges such as access to finance, limited networks and market entry barriers.

The selected projects for Cohort 3 are Nectarious, Sally Glamping, BuildClimate, Pine House, SINED Laboratories, Patrinova, Dryrolls, Eline Agro Food, Ardhi, Koolny, MedOneClick, VerdePulse, Photocarb, Flahetna, Sabounti, Nouma and PestoMio. Each of these businesses brings a different solution to sustainability challenges, from climate and agriculture to health, food systems and circular production.

Women Go Green is not only recognizing potential. The program is structured to actively support these women as they move from early-stage ideas to stronger operations. Its focus is practical and impact driven, aiming to help founders build businesses that can survive, scale and create positive environmental outcomes.

Supporting Women at the Center of Tunisia’s Ecological Transition

Women Go Green was launched by RedStart Tunisia and is supported by Greenov’i, a European Union funded project under the “Green & Sustainable Tunisia” program. It is implemented by Expertise France in collaboration with CITET Tunisia, the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Economy and Planning. Together, these partners aim to strengthen Tunisia’s ecological transition by supporting green entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on women founders.

The program targets women who are building solutions in sectors that are essential for sustainable development but still face structural barriers. Many green and sustainable businesses struggle with limited access to funding, weak market links and a lack of tailored business support. These challenges are often more pronounced for women entrepreneurs, particularly those based outside major cities.

Women Go Green is designed to close this gap. By offering personalized operational support, training and coaching, the program helps founders strengthen their business models, improve their market readiness and better understand how to attract investors. This approach increases the chances that these businesses will not only survive but also contribute meaningfully to environmental protection and job creation.

Inclusion is a key priority of the initiative. Special attention is given to women entrepreneurs in inland and interior regions, where economic opportunities are still limited. By supporting women-led projects in these areas, Women Go Green encourages more balanced economic growth and helps ensure that the green transition benefits communities across the country, not only those in urban centers.

Building Capacity, Local Ecosystems and Long-Term Impact

A core strength of the Women Go Green program is its focus on capacity building. Entrepreneurs in Cohort 3 will receive hands-on guidance to help them develop solutions that respond to real market needs while delivering clear environmental and social impact. This includes support on product development, business strategy and operational planning.

Participants also receive practical support on how to approach investors and prepare for funding opportunities. For many early-stage founders, especially women, understanding how to access finance is one of the biggest hurdles. By addressing this directly, the program helps reduce one of the main reasons promising green businesses fail to grow.

Beyond individual support, Women Go Green also aims to strengthen local innovation ecosystems. The program plans to develop pilot Green Hubs in selected regions. These hubs will act as local centers where entrepreneurs can access technical assistance, mentorship and professional networks. By doing so, the program encourages innovation outside major urban areas and supports the growth of regional green economies.

The selection of the Cohort 3 entrepreneurs was supported by a dedicated jury, whose role was to assess projects with care, fairness and high standards. The jury members included Mrs. Sondes Drissi and Mrs. Noor Hamza from Microcred, Mrs. Raja Hamdi from Sidi Bouzid Business Center, Mr. Anis Allagui from ABM Consulting, Mr. Aymen Cherif from Attijari Bank Tunisia, Ms. Faten Guizani from Borj Cedria University and Ms. Ahlem Zghidi, an environmental consultant.

Their contribution ensured that entrepreneurs with strong commitment, clear potential and meaningful impact were selected for the acceleration and operational support phase.

As Women Go Green enters this new chapter with Cohort 3, the program continues to demonstrate how targeted support for women entrepreneurs can drive sustainable growth. By investing in these 17 women-led businesses, the initiative is helping to shape a greener, more inclusive and more resilient Tunisian economy.
