Sesi Technologies has entered a new partnership that places young people at the center of practical and profitable agriculture. Through a Memorandum of Understanding with DIPPER Lab and A G R I N V E S T Limited, the three organisations are working toward one clear outcome. They want to help youth build real businesses in agribusiness using mechanisation and soil intelligence.

The initiative is built around FarmSense Soil Intelligence, a technology that helps farmers understand their soil better and make informed decisions. More importantly, it turns this knowledge into a business opportunity. Instead of seeing technology as something distant or expensive, this partnership brings it into the hands of young people in rural and peri urban areas and helps them earn an income from it.

By combining youth mobilisation, training, technology and business support, the partnership aims to create a new generation of youth owned agricultural service providers. These young entrepreneurs will not only support farmers in their communities but also build sustainable livelihoods for themselves.

Turning Soil Data into Youth Businesses

At the heart of this initiative is a structured approach that links opportunity with skills and support. A G R I N V E S T Limited will play a key role by providing a pipeline of young people who are ready to take part. These youth will come through the Strengthened Access to Mechanisation for Agribusinesses for Youth Employment Opportunities Project, known as SAMA. The project is funded by AGRA and the Mastercard Foundation under the YEFFA program and focuses on youth employment in agriculture.

Once selected, the youth will receive hands on training from Sesi Technologies and DIPPER Lab. The training will focus on soil testing, data collection and soil fertility advisory services. Participants will also be equipped with FarmSense tools that allow them to collect soil data and translate it into clear advice for farmers.

After training, the support does not stop. A G R I N V E S T will work with the trained youth to help them set up and run their own soil testing and mechanisation businesses. These businesses will offer paid soil analysis and nutrient management advisory services to farmers within their communities. Using FarmSense tools, the youth will help farmers make better decisions about what to plant and how to manage their land while earning income from these services.

This approach creates value on several levels. Farmers gain access to affordable and reliable soil information. Youth gain skills, tools and a pathway to entrepreneurship. Communities benefit from improved agricultural productivity and local economic activity.

The signing of the MoU reflects a shared commitment to these goals. It was signed by Dr Andrew Selasi Agbemenu, Deputy Scientific Director of DIPPER Lab, Isaac Sesi, CEO of Sesi Technologies and Kofi Kyeremateng Nyanteng, CEO of Agrinvest Limited. Together, they signal a strong belief in youth employment, entrepreneurship and data driven agriculture.

Building a Strong Agritech Ecosystem

The partnership also brings together organisations with complementary strengths. Sesi Technologies focuses on developing affordable hardware and software solutions for agriculture. Its tools are designed to help farmers increase productivity, yield and profit while remaining accessible to smallholder farmers and service providers.

DIPPER Lab adds deep research and innovation capacity. Located at KNUST in Ghana, the lab is dedicated to advancing the use of IoT, blockchain and edge intelligence computing in food and agriculture. Beyond research, DIPPER Lab plays a wider role in building local technology ecosystems. It engages students, researchers, developers, faculty and community based entrepreneurs who want to design and deploy local technology solutions.

The lab also supports digitisation efforts across Ghana and the sub region by making blockchain and IoT central to regional computing ecosystems. This ensures that technologies like FarmSense are not isolated tools but part of a growing and locally grounded innovation space.

A G R I N V E S T Limited completes the ecosystem by focusing on scaling investments for agricultural productivity and profitability. Through projects like SAMA, it connects youth, finance and market driven agricultural opportunities.

At Sesi Technologies, the belief is clear. Agritech should do more than increase yields. It should create livelihoods. This partnership shows how technology, when combined with training and business support, can unlock new economic opportunities for young people.

By helping youth build service based agribusinesses around soil intelligence and mechanisation, the initiative moves beyond short term projects. It lays the foundation for long term impact where youth become business owners, farmers receive better support and agriculture becomes a stronger driver of inclusive growth.
