Remita has launched a new mobile application that brings banking, payments and money-management services together on one platform. The move is aimed at making everyday financial activities easier for consumers while expanding Remita’s presence in the consumer and retail market.

The financial technology company unveiled the app during Nigeria Fintech Week 2026 (NFW26), held at the Wole Soyinka Centre in Iganmu, Lagos, on Tuesday, September 22.

The new app allows users to manage multiple bank accounts, make payments and access a range of financial services from one platform. It builds on Remita’s more than two decades of experience serving financial institutions, fintech businesses, government, businesses and individuals.

Speaking at the launch, DeRemi Atanda, Managing Director of Remita, said the move represents an important step for the company.

“We have been in the business of making everyday payments easier for people for over 20 years, and this represents a landmark for us as we move boldly into the consumer and retail space,” he said.

Atanda said Remita’s focus is not only on individual products but on bringing different financial services together to support customers throughout their financial lives. He said the company had used its experience to better understand what consumers need.

The app gives users access to local and pan-African transfers, recurring payments, shares and stocks investment, a retail loans marketplace, flight tickets and event tickets. It also includes bills and utilities payments, micro-pensions and other financial services.

One Platform for Everyday Financial Needs

The app was developed to address the fragmented way many consumers currently manage their finances. Many people use different applications for banking, transfers, bills and other financial needs.

Adedayo Adewale, Head of Remita Consumer and Retail Business, said the company wanted to reduce this burden.

“One of the challenges we have responded to is that individuals in Nigeria have fragmented financial services,” Adewale said. “They want to be able to start and complete their financial transactions from one place.”

Through the app, users can view participating bank accounts, transfer funds, buy airtime and data, pay electricity bills, make government and merchant payments and set up recurring payments.

The platform also provides budgeting, expense tracking and greater visibility into personal finances. Remita said the experience is supported by its use of artificial intelligence.

The app further extends these services across African markets. Through its partnership with the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS), users will be able to debit local bank accounts and transfer funds to accounts in other African countries directly through the app.

For Remita, the consumer launch builds on a business that already processes more than ₦100 trillion in transactions annually, largely through corporate payments.

“Our vision when we started was to make it easier for organisations to make diverse payments,” Atanda said. “Having learned over the years, it became clear that the next phase was to take that experience to consumers.”

At NFW26, Atanda also discussed the future of Nigeria’s payment ecosystem, highlighting digital adoption, infrastructure, resilience, regulation and cross-border payments.

He said payment infrastructure would play an increasingly important role in economic activity.

“Payment infrastructure has become fiscal infrastructure,” Atanda said, adding that the next step was extending existing infrastructure beyond local transactions and into cross-border payments.
