Cryptofy Digital, a Nigerian and U.S.-based blockchain and fintech company, has entered a partnership with the European Cultural Center Nigeria that the company says gives it a framework to expand its digital solutions, education programs and innovation initiatives across 29 European countries.
The agreement, announced Saturday, positions Cryptofy Digital as a bridge between Africa and Europe across blockchain, fintech, digital skills and youth empowerment, according to the company.
The partnership was formalized under ECC Nigeria’s mandate to foster cultural, educational and economic exchange between Nigeria, Africa and Europe.
With support from EU programs focused on digital transformation and innovation, Cryptofy Digital will collaborate on compliant technology deployment, capacity building and cross-border initiatives across the 29 EU member and partner states covered by the agreement.
Patrick Okechukwu, Founder and CEO of Cryptofy Digital, described the deal as a turning point for the company’s international ambitions.
“Today marks a historic moment for African innovation,” Okechukwu said. “With the support of ECC Nigeria, Cryptofy Digital can take homegrown Nigerian solutions in Fintech, Blockchain, and digital education to 29 European markets. This is about co-creation, compliance and impact.”
Amb. Sunny Onuoha, Director for Africa, International Cooperation at the European Cultural Center Nigeria, framed the agreement as consistent with the EU’s broader inclusion agenda.
“This partnership reflects the EU’s commitment to inclusive innovation,” Onuoha said. “By working with Cryptofy Digital, we are bringing proven African digital models to Europe while creating new opportunities for cultural and economic exchange.”
Amb. Elajoe Nwosu, Partner and Executive Director of Cryptofy Digital, cast the partnership in sweeping terms.
“History has just been rewritten!” Nwosu said. “With this monumental partnership between Cryptofy Digital and European Cultural Center, this singular act further bridges the gap between Africa and Europe using Innovation, Digital Finance, Technology and Cultural Exchange programs as a tool to empower the youth across Africa, Europe and the entire world.”
According to the company, the partnership offers Cryptofy Digital a direct pathway to pilot and scale products in 29 European countries, along with access to EU regulatory standards covering data protection and digital finance compliance, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the Markets in Crypto-Assets framework.
The company also points to eligibility for EU-backed innovation, startup and cultural exchange funding and exchange programs pairing Nigerian and European developers, students and entrepreneurs.
For ECC Nigeria and the European Union, the company says the arrangement provides access to scalable, mobile-first African fintech solutions for integration into European pilot programs, joint youth bootcamps and digital literacy initiatives and a compliant framework for African and European startups to co-develop products.
The first phase of the partnership is set to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will include EU-compliant digital literacy programs across five European cities, a pilot of blockchain-based identity and payment solutions and a joint EU-Nigeria innovation summit hosted by ECC Nigeria.
The deal arrives as African fintech and blockchain firms increasingly look to Europe not just as an investment source but as a direct market for African-built digital infrastructure, part of a broader pattern of African tech companies seeking regulatory pathways into the EU’s single market through cultural and diplomatic institutions rather than conventional venture channels alone.
