Morocco will host the inaugural GITEX FUTURE HEALTH Africa from May 4–6, 2026, in what is set to become the continent’s most influential event for healthcare innovation. The summit and exhibition will bring together policymakers, investors, medical leaders and innovators under one roof, offering a platform to shape the future of healthcare across Africa.

The event is designed to address Africa’s urgent need for modern, technology-driven health systems. With the continent’s healthcare market projected to reach US$259 billion by 2030 and become the second-largest globally, GITEX FUTURE HEALTH Africa aims to accelerate investment, innovation and cross-sector collaboration to improve accessibility, efficiency and patient outcomes.

“Our mission is to accelerate healthcare innovation across the continent by creating a platform where technology, healthcare expertise and investment converge,” organizers said. “Through digital solutions, we aim to transform Africa’s health systems, improve access and enhance patient outcomes.”

The event is organized by KAOUN International, the global producers of GITEX, under the authority of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Morocco and in strategic partnership with the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sciences and Health.

A Platform for Innovation, Policy and Investment

GITEX FUTURE HEALTH Africa is designed as a multi-day experience, combining a high-level summit with a world-class exhibition. Each day focuses on a key aspect of healthcare transformation.

The first day, the Executive Summit, will tackle the challenge of financing health sovereignty. Leaders will explore how Africa can reduce dependence on external support and strengthen national health systems. Key themes include universal health coverage, policy alignment across the continent and the use of epidemiological intelligence to guide decentralized policy.

On the second day, the Future Hospitals Forum will examine how hospitals can evolve from static buildings into resilient, intelligent systems. Discussions will focus on operational resilience, next-generation hospital design, AI-driven diagnostics, digital infrastructure and teleradiology. Participants will learn frameworks for building hospitals that are adaptable, scalable and ready for Africa’s growing healthcare demands.

The final day, the Future Care Forum, emphasizes the human element in digital transformation. It will explore patient-centered strategies, integrated care, workforce retention, ethical AI and human-machine collaboration, ensuring that technological advancements complement rather than replace patient care.

The event’s exhibition will showcase cutting-edge technologies, including medical devices, laboratory equipment, imaging and diagnostics tools, consumables, orthopedics, physiotherapy solutions and AI-driven digital healthcare platforms. GITEX DIGI_HEALTH will highlight the most impactful innovations in AI, blockchain and smart health systems.

Morocco as a Regional Healthtech Hub

Morocco’s selection as host is strategic. The country is advancing toward a fully integrated national health information system and is positioning itself as a continental hub for medical innovation. Hosting GITEX FUTURE HEALTH Africa allows Morocco to showcase its progress, foster policy dialogue and attract investment while promoting collaboration with other African nations.

The event will serve as a launchpad for bold ideas and transformative technologies. It aims to facilitate public-private partnerships, strengthen digital health ecosystems and integrate AI-driven diagnostics, smart hospitals and national health records across Africa.

Organizers are inviting attendees to pre-register and secure access to this milestone event.
