Latitude59 Kenya 2025 ended with a story that showed how fast Africa’s innovation landscape is growing. At the center of it was Mediakits.io, the winner of the Pitch Competition and one of the most promising creator-focused startups on the continent. The team walked away with the top prize and a chance to showcase their work on a global stage. Their win also marked a moment that reflects the broader growth of Africa’s digital ecosystem and the type of support founders can expect as they build the next wave of solutions.
Mediakits.io received a round trip to the Latitude59 conference in Tallinn 2026, a booth at the event and a fast track to Estonia’s Pitch Competition Pre Finals. This recognition puts them in front of global investors and partners. It also highlights how well they used this platform to present a product built for today’s fast moving creator economy.
The event made even bigger news with the first ever syndicated investment by the Nairobi Business Angel Network. The investment went to PaydHQ. This shows the confidence investors have in African founders who are building solutions that support real business needs across borders.
A Standout Win for Mediakits.io
Mediakits.io rose to the top from a strong field of 222 applications across 27 countries. Their platform is a simple and easy to use AI driven tool that helps influencers and brands design and share professional media kits. It gives creators real time data and analytics, and makes it easy to show their work and audience in a clean and attractive format. Many creators struggle to present themselves well to potential partners. Mediakits.io solves this in a way that feels natural and fast.
The platform places design, analytics and sharing in one place. It also focuses on giving creators visually strong templates and trusted data handling. The result is a tool that helps users grow their collaborations without spending hours trying to put content together. This made Mediakits.io stand out during the pitch sessions and convinced the jury that the product is filling a clear gap in the digital market.
The CEO of Latitude59, Liisi Org, said that this year was special because the event achieved something the team had been working toward for three years. For the first time in Latitude59 Kenya’s history, a syndicated Nairobi Business Angel Network investment of 50,000 dollars was announced live on stage. She said it shows that the event is not just about meeting people. It is about building real relationships that can turn into opportunities.
Kaspar Kitsing, the project lead for the Latitude59 satellite event in Africa, added that the event is now part of the ecosystem and not just a one off meeting point. He said that this year showed what is possible when different ecosystems come together with equal energy and shared goals.
A New Investment Milestone for PaydHQ
While Mediakits.io took the top prize, the event also marked a breakthrough moment for PaydHQ. The Nairobi Business Angel Network selected PaydHQ for the 50,000 dollar syndicated investment. This is a platform that allows borderless teams and talent to pay and get paid globally. It also supports income tracking, spending management and access to financial services. The investment signals confidence in a company building tools for the modern workforce, especially as African talent continues to work with clients across the world.
NaiBAN founder Nick Vilelle noted that choosing one team was extremely difficult because the finalists delivered strong performances and showed deep belief in their work. He emphasized that PaydHQ now joins a journey that fits the long term commitment of the investor network.
The event also saw several other startups receive support. Adoptomedia awarded Vertical Lake a preparation for commercial due diligence and fundraising package and offered go to market strategy support to LOOP Pet Food and Acre Insights. Beba Beggie, PaydHQ and ProPath Sports received co working membership awards from WOJO.
A Bridge Between Estonia and Africa’s Startup Ecosystems
Latitude59 Kenya 2025 brought together 2500 participants, close to 200 investors and almost 900 startup representatives from 50 countries. The event was delivered with support from ESTDEV through the Digital and Green Innovation Programme under the European Union’s D4D Hub Twin Transition initiative. Other partners included Civitta, Smart Africa, Belva, KOOD, the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency and Fienta.
Estonia continues to play a strong role in this story. The country has the highest concentration of unicorns in Europe and over 1400 startups serving a population of just 1.3 million people. Many Estonian startups are already expanding into Africa and events like Latitude59 strengthen this bridge.
Latitude59 Kenya 2025 ended with a sense of growth and momentum. Mediakits.io captured the spotlight as a strong example of what African founders can build when given the right platform. The investment into PaydHQ added another layer showing that capital is flowing toward teams solving real problems. It sets the stage for a bigger and more connected innovation future for the region.
