Tunisian legal-tech startup Juridoc has expanded its operations into Benin after signing a strategic partnership with Hope Groupe, a move expected to improve access to legal information and strengthen compliance systems for businesses and institutions in the West African country.

Under the agreement, Hope Groupe becomes the exclusive distributor of Juridoc’s legal platform in Benin. The expansion marks another important step for the startup as it continues building its presence across Africa and positioning itself as a leading digital legal solutions provider on the continent.

Founded in 2021, Juridoc was created to simplify access to legal resources through technology. The platform provides a large database that includes legislation, case law, doctrine and legal monitoring, helping legal professionals and companies access reliable and updated information faster.

The company’s intelligent search engine, powered by generative AI, is designed to help businesses, institutions and legal experts optimise their work processes by reducing the time spent searching for legal documents and improving decision-making. In many African markets where access to organised legal information can still be difficult, platforms like Juridoc are becoming increasingly important for businesses trying to operate efficiently and remain compliant with regulations.

The expansion into Benin is expected to support local businesses by giving them easier access to legal information and tools that can improve transparency, reduce legal uncertainty and strengthen competitiveness. For startups and SMEs in particular, affordable and accessible legal support can remove barriers that often slow business growth.

“This agreement with Hope Groupe is a pivotal step. Providing Beninese economic actors with intelligent access to their legal environment is a real driver of competitiveness, bringing us closer to our vision: to make Juridoc the pan-African benchmark for legal compliance, thus offering exclusive access to economic actors and legal professionals worldwide who have interests on the continent,” said Kais Assali, the startup’s CEO.

Juridoc is already operating in Tunisia and Senegal and has been accelerating its regional expansion strategy following funding secured last year. The company now plans to launch in Ivory Coast and Mauritania in the near future as it continues targeting underserved legal markets across Africa.

The startup was founded by Kais Assali, Maya Boureghda Chebeane and Anis Wahabi with the aim of using technology to make legal services more accessible and affordable for both businesses and individuals.

As digital transformation continues to reshape African industries, legal-tech is becoming an increasingly important sector. Juridoc’s latest expansion highlights how African startups are developing homegrown technology solutions that not only solve local challenges but also support regional business growth and integration.
