Access to advanced farming technology has often remained out of reach for many African farmers because of cost and infrastructure. Hurudza AI and South Korean technology company SaeFarm are seeking to change that through a partnership that combines locally developed artificial intelligence with satellite intelligence to deliver practical farming solutions across Africa.
The two companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop and deploy AI and satellite-powered farming solutions across the continent. By bringing together Hurudza AI’s indigenous agricultural AI models with SaeFarm’s satellite intelligence technology, the partnership aims to improve productivity, strengthen climate resilience and make precision agriculture more affordable for farmers.
Hurudza AI has developed AI models that provide farming advice based on African farming conditions and local languages, while SaeFarm’s technology remotely monitors farms and generates actionable insights without the need for expensive field sensors.
Frank Makeba, CEO of Hurudza AI, described the agreement as an important milestone in making advanced agricultural technology more accessible across Africa.
“Signing this MOU with SaeFarm is a strategic milestone in scaling Artificial Intelligence and satellite technology across Africa,” he said. “By combining our indigenous farming AI models with SaeFarm’s satellite intelligence, we are creating a robust farming solution that truly speaks to the farmer’s land.”
Making Precision Agriculture More Accessible
The partnership seeks to address one of the biggest challenges facing many African farmers: the high cost of precision agriculture. Traditional systems often rely on sensors installed on farms, making them difficult for many smallholder farmers to afford.
Instead, Hurudza AI and SaeFarm will use satellite intelligence and AI to deliver farming insights remotely. This approach reduces costs while allowing farmers across rural Africa to access timely information that supports better decision making.
Makeba said the partnership will enable farmers to receive indigenous farming advice without requiring expensive sensors or specialised hardware, making precision agriculture “more accessible and scalable than ever before.”
He added that the company’s vision is “to ensure that every African farmer, regardless of location or resources, can benefit from world-class AI and space technology.”
The collaboration will support AI-powered precision farming, satellite-based crop monitoring, climate-smart agriculture, yield prediction and forecasting, early disease and drought detection, carbon-smart and sustainable farming and scalable advisory services for smallholder farmers.

The partnership also comes at a time when African agriculture faces growing pressure from climate variability, food security concerns and the need to increase productivity. By combining locally developed AI with advanced satellite technology, the two companies believe they can provide farmers with practical, data-driven tools that improve resilience and long-term sustainability.
SaeFarm CEO Jeong Seunghwan said both organisations share the same vision of empowering farmers through technology.
