GrowthLabs Partners with Amenli to Launch Insurance Service for Startups

GrowthLabs has partnered with Amenli to make insurance more accessible to startups and entrepreneurs in Egypt. The partnership introduces a dedicated digital insurance service that allows startup teams to explore, compare and purchase insurance coverage directly through the GrowthLabs platform.

The service aims to address some of the challenges startups face when seeking insurance. Traditional insurance processes can take weeks and often involve paperwork, manual procedures and lengthy administrative steps. For early-stage companies operating with limited time and resources, these processes can be difficult to manage.

The new service provides a faster digital option. Entrepreneurs can access insurance products through the same platform they already use for other business needs. This can help reduce the time and effort required to secure protection for their companies, founding teams and employees.

The partnership also responds to growing demand from startups in Egypt and across the region for insurance solutions that better reflect their business models and stages of growth. Early-stage companies often have different needs from larger and more established businesses. Access to suitable coverage can therefore play an important role as startups build their operations and teams.

Islam Orban, Managing Director of GrowthLabs, said entrepreneurs should be able to focus their time on building their companies rather than dealing with lengthy insurance procedures.

“By integrating Amenli’s coverage into our platform, we are giving founders one less burden to manage and a greater reason to grow with confidence. This partnership makes essential protection more accessible to the ecosystem we serve,” he said.

Insurance Integrated Into the Startup Journey

Under the partnership, Amenli will serve as the exclusive insurance partner for the GrowthLabs ecosystem. Its insurance services will be integrated directly into the GrowthLabs platform.

Entrepreneurs will be able to browse available insurance options, compare coverage and select a plan that fits their needs. They can then activate their policies through the platform without having to rely on traditional paperwork and manual processes.

The service focuses on insurance coverage designed for startups. This includes solutions that take into account the needs of founding teams, employees and companies in the early stages of growth.

The digital process is designed to cover the full customer journey. Entrepreneurs can begin by reviewing available options and comparing different forms of coverage. They can then complete their purchase online through GrowthLabs.

This approach gives startups easier access to insurance as part of the wider digital services available to them. It also removes the need to handle insurance as a separate and potentially time-consuming process.

Amenli’s technology further supports the digital model. The company says its platform can issue insurance policies within minutes. This is a significant change from traditional processes that can take weeks to complete.

Amenli is Egypt’s first licensed digital insurance broker and operates under a licence from the country’s Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA). Its focus is on using digital technology to make insurance more accessible and easier to navigate.

Shady El-Tohfa, CEO of Amenli, said startups have been an important part of the company’s target market because they are often underserved by traditional insurance services.

“From day one, Amenli has been built around making insurance simple and accessible to those underserved by the market, and startups are at the heart of this group,” he said.

He added that the partnership with GrowthLabs would allow Amenli to reach entrepreneurs through a platform they already use.

“Our partnership with GrowthLabs allows us to reach entrepreneurs where they already are and provide protection at the speed their businesses require,” El-Tohfa said.

A New Layer of Support for Entrepreneurs

GrowthLabs specialises in building infrastructure that supports entrepreneurship ecosystems across the region. By adding insurance to its platform, the company is expanding the range of services available to entrepreneurs as they develop their businesses.

For startups, having access to suitable insurance can provide protection against risks that could otherwise place additional pressure on young companies. Making that protection easier to access can also reduce one of the administrative challenges founders face while building their businesses.

The partnership between GrowthLabs and Amenli therefore combines the startup ecosystem support of GrowthLabs with Amenli’s digital insurance technology. The service brings both into one platform and gives entrepreneurs a more direct way to access insurance.

The dedicated insurance service is now available to companies on the GrowthLabs platform. Entrepreneurs can access it directly through their accounts and review the available insurance options as part of their business journey.
