Entlaq is set to launch the fourth edition of the Egyptian Entrepreneurship Sector Diagnostic Report Summit (SDR 2026) from September 10 to 12, 2026, in El Gouna Red Sea. The summit is designed to strengthen Egypt’s entrepreneurship ecosystem by connecting startups with investors, government officials, funds and other key players.
Held under the theme “Data × Innovation: Reimagining Egypt’s Entrepreneurship Landscape,” the summit is being organised under the patronage of the Cabinet, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for the second consecutive year.
More than 500 participants are expected to attend. They will include government representatives, investors, investment funds, entrepreneurs and sector experts.
Government participation will include Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Dr. Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Ministerial Group for Entrepreneurship; Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade; Eng. Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry; Eng. Raafat Hendy, Minister of Communications and Information Technology; Mohamed Shamroukh, Executive President of the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Egypt (NTRA); Mostafa Ismail Hassan, CEO of MSMEDA; and Dr. Rasha Abdel Aal, Head of the Egyptian Tax Authority.
Real-time data to support better business decisions
A key feature of SDR 2026 will be the launch of the Live Data Intelligence experience in collaboration with arqam. The initiative will allow participants to interact directly with data and indicators linked to Egypt’s entrepreneurship sector.
For investors and decision-makers, access to real-time information can support better understanding of market trends, sector performance and areas with strong growth potential. It will also make SDR 2026 the first edition of the summit powered by real-time data.
The approach is expected to improve how opportunities within Egypt’s startup market are identified and assessed. It can also help connect promising businesses with investors who are looking for scalable ventures.
The summit will have a strong international investment presence. Participating investors represent more than $35 billion in assets under management, alongside more than 15 regional and local funds and seven international development and financing institutions.
Participating funds include TLcom Capital, UM6P Ventures, VentureSouq, Golden Gate Ventures, Launch Africa Ventures, Jedar Capital, Palm Ventures and Orbit Ventures (SOSV). Their participation will give Egyptian startups direct access to international investors and could create opportunities for funding, expansion and entry into new markets.
El Gouna strengthens its role as a business hub
El Gouna Red Sea is hosting SDR 2026 as part of its continued support for Egypt’s entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem. Developed by Orascom Development, the destination is positioning itself as a full, year-round town that supports tourism and residential activity alongside work, investment and business development.
Its growing business environment brings entrepreneurs, investors, corporations and decision-makers together. This creates opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing and new partnerships.
The summit will also benefit from El Gouna Business Park, which offers a business-friendly environment and flexible workspaces for companies and entrepreneurs at different stages of growth.
By hosting SDR 2026, El Gouna Red Sea is supporting efforts to develop scalable businesses and connect them with investment opportunities. The initiative also supports the wider role of the private sector in creating sustainable economic value and contributing to Egypt’s economic growth.
