South African Tamryn Geldenhuys is a standout strategist in reputation management and brand strategy, known for her unique blend of creativity and strategic insight. As the founder and driving force behind Lemon Sorbet Marketing (www.lemonsorbet.co.za), she has dedicated her career to elevating brand visibility, protecting reputations and creating meaningful connections with key stakeholders across diverse industries.

“Lemon Sorbet Marketing was born out of a desire to bring fresh thinking and unwavering integrity to the communications space,” she says. “We believe in combining creativity with strategy to help brands cut through the noise and make a measurable impact.”

From public relations to digital marketing and brand design, her consultancy offers tailored solutions that ensure clients tell their stories in ways that resonate with audiences and deliver tangible results.

A Journey Fueled by Purpose

The inception of Lemon Sorbet Marketing was deeply personal. After facing retrenchment herself, Tamryn saw a pressing need to empower other women, particularly those losing their livelihoods. Officially opening its doors on 1 October 2025, the consultancy was envisioned not just as a business but as a platform to create impactful work that uplifts communities.

As a reputation strategist and business owner, Tamryn wears multiple hats. She oversees business development, takes new briefs, executes campaigns and manages reporting. Working with a lean but agile team of six freelancers, she ensures every client receives strategically driven, high-quality service despite the operational challenges of a small but growing company.

At the heart of Lemon Sorbet Marketing is a commitment to strategy and creativity. The consultancy operates across three main pillars:

  • Public Relations Strategy and Implementation – Crafting narratives that resonate with stakeholders and enhance brand credibility.
  • Digital Marketing – Including SEO optimisation, website development and social media management to amplify reach.
  • Design and Branding – Ensuring visual storytelling aligns seamlessly with brand identity.

While navigating the challenges of client acquisition during quieter periods, particularly at year-end, Tamryn demonstrates resilience. Managing schedules and workflows across a dispersed freelancer network has been demanding, yet she remains confident that the consultancy will emerge stronger in the coming months.

“My biggest challenge is trying to sign on new clients at the end of the year. People are tired and looking to slow down, not ramp up their marketing efforts and then managing a team of freelancers until I can hire full-time staff is also a challenge, trying to work with everyone’s schedules,” she says. “I’m currently in the eye of the storm, but I predict we will be out of it within the next 3 months. We need to be.”

Impactful Work

Lemon Sorbet Marketing has already made its mark. Among its notable projects is a beautifully designed booklet for Koleinu, an anti-abuse organisation supporting vulnerable communities. Tamryn remarks, “This is the kind of work that really fills my cup, creating campaigns that matter, impact real people and drive meaningful societal change.”

Looking ahead, Tamryn envisions expanding her team to 12–15 full-time employees within the next five years, providing competitive salaries to support families while cultivating a world-class, impact-driven culture. She aims to work with blue-chip local brands and deliver award-winning campaigns, positioning Lemon Sorbet Marketing as a leading force in African brand strategy and reputation management.

By combining strategic insight, creative flair and a clear social purpose, Tamryn Geldenhuys is not just building a company; she is crafting a legacy. Lemon Sorbet Marketing exemplifies how businesses can simultaneously thrive commercially and generate positive societal impact – a vision increasingly resonant across Africa’s entrepreneurial landscape.
