Career 180 has announced KEMET-X, a global entrepreneurship and innovation gathering that aims to bring approximately $5 billion in funds from five continents to Egypt. The initiative will connect international investors, venture capital firms, founders, corporates, government leaders and technology pioneers with Egypt’s growing entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.
The platform is designed to create new opportunities for investment, partnerships and access to global markets. It also seeks to strengthen Egypt’s links with the wider African and global startup landscape.
Connecting Global Capital With Local Opportunities
The announcement was made during a launch event in Cairo. The event brought together stakeholders from Egypt’s entrepreneurship and investment ecosystem to introduce the vision behind KEMET-X.
The launch also featured the KEMET-X Tracks Challenge. The challenge covers business, creative, technology, intellectual property and innovation. It highlights the range of opportunities and disciplines that KEMET-X will bring together under one platform.
Yasmeen Samy, Partner Head of Projects & Expansion at Career 180, said Egypt has the talent and ambition to build a stronger position in the regional entrepreneurship and innovation space.
“Egypt has the talent, ambition and potential to become a leading hub for entrepreneurship and innovation in the region,” Samy said.
She added that KEMET-X will bring global capital, investors, founders and technology leaders closer to Egypt’s startup ecosystem.
According to Samy, the initiative will help create the connections and opportunities needed to turn ideas into businesses and businesses into global success stories.
Building Links Across Africa and the Global Ecosystem
The September launch is the first step towards the main KEMET-X gathering. The flagship two-day event will take place on 14–15 December 2026 at the Great Pyramids of Giza.
More than 200 partners, startups and venture capital firms from over 50 countries are expected to take part. Investors, entrepreneurs, technology leaders, corporates and institutions from across the global ecosystem will also attend.
Through KEMET-X, Career 180 aims to position Egypt as a meeting point for global entrepreneurship and investment. The initiative will also create opportunities for African founders to connect with international capital, markets and expertise.
By bringing these groups together, KEMET-X is expected to support stronger business connections and open new pathways for startups seeking investment, partnerships and international growth.
