Egypt is strengthening its ICT sector as a key driver of economic growth with the launch of a new round of the Export-IT Program. This initiative is designed to support local companies in expanding their exports, reducing operational costs and improving competitiveness in global markets. Since 2010, the program has helped more than 370 companies grow their international presence and enhance the quality of their services. The latest round, targeting export proceeds collected in 2024, continues the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA)’s commitment to empowering micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. By providing structured financial support, guidance and transparent procedures, the program aims to elevate the Egyptian ICT industry, encourage innovation and position the country as a regional leader in technology exports.

The Export-IT Program forms a cornerstone of ITIDA’s strategy to strengthen the domestic ICT sector. Egypt is the first country in the region to launch a dedicated initiative that not only supports ICT exporters but also guides them to maximize their resources, improve efficiency and compete effectively in global markets. Over 15 previous rounds, ITIDA has continuously refined and expanded the program, creating a system that encourages sustainable growth and rewards high-performing companies. Eligible ICT companies are invited to register and submit their documents electronically between September 1 and October 2, 2025, making participation faster, easier and fully digital.

Support Structure and Program Objectives

The Export-IT Program provides direct financial support based on the value of approved exports. Companies are classified into micro, small and medium categories according to their total annual revenue, with support levels tailored to encourage growth across all tiers. Micro companies with revenue up to 2 million EGP, small companies up to 20 million EGP and medium companies up to 150 million EGP are eligible for assistance, with a maximum support ceiling of 2.5 million EGP per company.

Support is structured to maximize impact. Companies can receive 10–35% of their value-added exports depending on size and performance. Micro and small companies operating outside Cairo, Giza and Alexandria or those achieving an increase in value-added exports, receive additional incentives. Medium companies may receive up to 10% support on increases in value-added exports compared with their previous round, while small companies exceeding 15 million EGP in revenue may qualify for 12% support if their approved value-added exports increase.

The program’s objectives are clear. It helps companies develop resources, reduce export-related costs and strengthen competitiveness. It encourages growth in ICT exports, covering services such as embedded software, IT-enabled services like call centers, IT consulting and training. Export-IT also emphasizes inclusivity, providing extra support to smaller firms and those outside major urban centers, helping to spread economic opportunities nationwide.

All export transactions and supporting documents undergo thorough auditing and validation by ITIDA’s external auditors. Once verified, ITIDA analyzes company performance, including exported services, business models, markets served and industry verticals. This ensures transparency, maintains confidentiality and allows the authority to continuously improve the program while tracking its impact on Egypt’s ICT sector.

Eligibility Criteria and Submission Process

To participate, companies must meet specific requirements. They must be headquartered in Egypt, at least 50% Egyptian-owned and actively exporting ICT services, IT-enabled services or embedded software. Companies with annual revenue exceeding 150 million EGP are ineligible, ensuring support is targeted to micro, small and medium enterprises. IT-enabled services require approval from the Export-IT committee before inclusion.

Registration and submission of documents are fully electronic. Participants must use the program’s software application, signing documents with an e-signature token or eSealing Certificate. Companies should ensure certificates are current and issued by a licensed provider, simplifying the process and ensuring regulatory compliance. The registration period opens on September 1, 2025 and closes on October 2, 2025, allowing companies sufficient time to complete the application.

This digital approach reduces administrative burdens, speeds up approvals and ensures timely support for companies’ exports. It also demonstrates ITIDA’s commitment to modernizing processes, providing efficient, user-friendly systems that meet the needs of contemporary businesses.

Driving Competitiveness and Global Presence

The Export-IT Program has been instrumental in shaping Egypt’s ICT sector for over a decade. By providing structured support, it has enabled hundreds of companies to expand globally, improve operations and compete internationally. The program encourages innovation, rewards measurable export growth and fosters sustainable development.

Egypt’s continued investment in Export-IT reflects its ambition to become a regional ICT leader. The program’s combination of financial support, advisory services and transparent governance empowers companies to enter new markets, adopt modern business models and enhance service quality. By focusing on small and medium enterprises, Export-IT ensures that benefits are distributed broadly, generating opportunities across multiple regions and sectors.

Long-term sustainability is central to the program. ITIDA monitors company performance, analyzes trends and provides targeted assistance to ensure Egyptian ICT exports remain competitive. This approach not only strengthens individual companies but also supports the broader ecosystem, fostering innovation, job creation and economic resilience.

With financial support, guidance and streamlined submission processes, the program provides a reliable path for companies to grow while enhancing Egypt’s reputation as a regional ICT hub.

By supporting export growth, reducing costs and fostering competitiveness, Export-IT plays a key role in Egypt’s economic strategy. It empowers micro, small and medium enterprises to thrive, creates sustainable opportunities and reinforces Egypt’s position as a leader in technology exports. With 15 successful rounds already completed, the latest round demonstrates ITIDA’s commitment to continuous improvement and the long-term development of the ICT sector.
