Egypt’s investment, real estate and tourism sectors are expected to play a leading role in driving economic growth in 2026 following the successful conclusion of the eighth edition of the “Decision Makers” Conference in Cairo.
Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Housing and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), the conference brought together government officials, investors and business leaders to discuss ways to strengthen the country’s economy and attract more investment.
Organised by San & Sam at the Grand Egyptian Museum, the event was held under the theme, “The Investment, Real Estate and Tourism Sectors: Egypt’s Economic Growth Triangle in 2026.”
Participants agreed that greater cooperation between these three sectors could create new investment opportunities, increase production and make a bigger contribution to Egypt’s gross domestic product.
Public and Private Sectors Push for Growth
The conference forms part of the ongoing “Decision Makers” series, which aims to create dialogue between the public and private sectors and develop practical recommendations that support economic growth and sustainable development.
Several prominent business and government figures participated in the discussions, including Dr. Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority; Walid Hassouna, Founder and CEO of Valu; Dr. Medhat Nafae, Chairman of Nym Consulting and member of the Prime Minister’s Advisory Council; Ayman Soliman, Managing Partner at Morpho Investments; Eng. Mahmoud Moneeb, Chairman and Founder of Finest Integrated Hospitality Solutions; Eng. Tarek Shoukry, Chairman of the Arab Real Estate Development Company; and Mohamed Motawaa, Founder and CEO of MG Developments.
Additional participants included Mostafa Kamel, Head of Development and Board Member at Dall Developments; Eng. Ahmed Ehab, CEO of Madar Developments; Maha Abdel Razek, CEO of Misr Real Estate Asset Management; Eng. Mohamed El Aasar, Chairman of Margins Developments; Eng. Mostafa Mounir, CEO of the Tourism Development Authority; Eng. Nabil Ammasha, Founder and CEO of People & Places; Omar Islam, Chairman of ITC Group; Amr Gazzarin, CEO of Orascom Pyramids; and Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim, Member of Parliament and CEO of Nivira Egypt.
The conference sessions were moderated by media professionals Saeed Gamil, Ahmed Yacoub, Managing Editor of Youm7 and Mena Shaheen.
Recommendations to Strengthen Egypt’s Investment Climate
Discussions focused on the impact of global economic changes on investment opportunities, the future of Egypt’s real estate sector and the growing relationship between real estate and tourism development.
At the end of the conference, participants called for stronger coordination between the government and the private sector to improve the business environment and support investment-led growth.
The conference also issued several recommendations, including strengthening public-private partnerships, simplifying investment procedures, accelerating digital transformation in the real estate sector and expanding programmes that attract tourism investment.
Participants concluded that closer integration between the investment, real estate and tourism sectors will be one of the most important engines of Egypt’s economic growth in the coming years. They stressed that continued cooperation between all stakeholders will be essential in attracting quality investments, supporting sustainable development and reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading investment destination in the region.
