DCSPay, Kotani Pay Partner to Extend Stablecoin Payouts Into Six African Markets

DCSPay, operated by DCS Group, has partnered with Kotani Pay to enhance domestic payout and settlement capabilities across Africa by connecting global stablecoin flows to local payment systems.

The partnership merges DCSPay’s stablecoin payment capabilities with Kotani Pay’s local connectivity, enabling regulated exchanges to offer stablecoin payouts in African markets via a single API.

This integration eliminates the need to build local payment infrastructure for each market, easing expansion into Africa’s fragmented banking and mobile money landscape.

Under the arrangement, DCSPay will handle the stablecoin payment layer, including the wallet and checkout front end, user and merchant onboarding, compliance oversight and the initiation of stablecoin transfers for payout and settlement.

Kotani Pay will manage the local leg of each transaction, converting USDT and USDC into local fiat currencies and facilitating domestic peer-to-peer payouts through mobile money, USSD and other local payment channels widely used across African markets.

The partnership will launch first in Nigeria before expanding to Kenya, Ghana, Egypt, South Africa and Tanzania, six markets that together represent a significant share of Africa’s largest and most active digital payments ecosystems.

Together, the two platforms aim to strengthen payment connectivity between Asia and Africa, creating a more direct link between global stablecoin liquidity and the local payment methods recipients actually use on the ground.

Sean Dong, Senior Director of Business Operations at DCSPay, framed the partnership as central to the company’s broader expansion strategy.

“Expanding into new markets shouldn’t require businesses to rebuild their payment infrastructure country by country,” Dong said. “By connecting DCSPay with Kotani Pay’s established local rails, we’re making it easier for businesses to extend stablecoin-funded payouts into African markets through a single integration. It’s part of how we’re building DCSPay: giving businesses the infrastructure and connectivity they need to scale stablecoin payments into more markets.”

Felix Macharia, CEO of Kotani Pay, pointed to the partnership as evidence of stablecoins’ growing role in reducing friction in cross-border commerce.

“Our partnership with DCSPay demonstrates how stablecoins, combined with robust local payment rails, can remove friction from cross-border commerce,” Macharia said. “Whether you’re paying a supplier in Lagos from Singapore or settling merchant payments across Africa, businesses can now move value in real time, securely and efficiently. That is the infrastructure we are building, connecting global capital to local African economies.”

The deal builds on Kotani Pay’s existing work linking global stablecoin flows with local payment networks across Africa, while giving DCSPay expanded connectivity into a region increasingly viewed as a critical testing ground for stablecoin-based payment infrastructure.

Africa’s high mobile money use, large remittance inflows and issues with traditional banking make it a prime target for stablecoin providers.

Partnerships in this space aim to prove that stablecoin settlements can succeed in delivering fast, low-cost payments to African markets, where conventional banking has struggled.

DCSPay is backed by DCS Group and operated through DCS Fintech (Hong Kong) Limited, bringing more than 50 years of payments heritage as a licensed global payments provider with expertise in compliance, settlement and regulated financial operations.

The platform enables businesses to accept stablecoin payments, manage funds in a custodial account, and convert payouts to fiat for their preferred bank accounts. It consolidates payment collection, fund management, and payouts into a single solution for Web2 and Web2.5 businesses looking for a compliant way to utilize stablecoin payments.

Kotani Pay operates under a CASP licence, providing payment infrastructure for businesses to manage payments across Africa using stablecoins. With a single API, it enables access to local payment methods, mobile money, bank transfers and real-time cross-border settlements in over 15 African markets, enhanced by its integration with DCSPay.
