Digital transformation is often measured by technology, but its real impact is seen in how easily people and businesses can move money. That reality sits at the heart of a new partnership between Connect Money and Visa, which aims to expand digital payments and financial inclusion across Egypt.
The two companies have signed a strategic agreement to introduce more Visa-powered payment and card solutions to the Egyptian market, a move expected to strengthen the country’s digital financial infrastructure and increase access to modern financial services for consumers and businesses.
Expanding Access to Digital Financial Services
The partnership will deliver seamless, secure and scalable payment experiences across consumer, small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and corporate segments. By making digital financial tools more accessible, the agreement is expected to support Egypt’s broader digital transformation agenda and encourage greater participation in the formal financial system.
“Our partnership with Connect Money marks an important step in enabling businesses to deliver Visa-powered payment experiences at scale, helping accelerate digital transformation and financial inclusion across the market,” said Malak El Baba, Vice President and Country Manager for Visa Egypt, Libya and Sudan.
The collaboration also reflects Connect Money’s mission of helping businesses across Africa and the Middle East connect their daily digital finances with end users in a faster, more efficient and user-friendly way.
Strengthening Egypt’s Fintech Ecosystem
The agreement marks another milestone for Connect Money as it continues to expand its presence in the embedded finance and digital payments sector. Co-founded by entrepreneur and Endeavor board member Ayman Essawy, the fintech company has issued more than 300,000 cards and built a network of more than 20,000 marketplace partners.
Connect Money enables businesses to offer white-labelled cards and digital banking applications without the lengthy regulatory processes, significant upfront investments and operational costs associated with building their own banking infrastructure. The company also provides digital payment solutions and instant lending capabilities that allow businesses to unlock new revenue opportunities.
By leveraging Visa’s global payments network, which facilitates transactions in more than 200 countries and territories, Connect Money is expected to further enhance its product offerings and broaden its reach in the Egyptian market.
The partnership also reflects the growing momentum of Egypt’s fintech industry, where digital payments and financial technology solutions are playing an increasingly important role in driving economic growth and expanding access to financial services.
