Bujeti has been selected as one of five companies globally to join the first cohort of Rain’s Agentic Startup Program, giving the African finance platform access to infrastructure for stablecoin-powered payments and card issuing.

The partnership will strengthen the financial tools available to businesses using Bujeti, particularly those that manage international payments, global vendors and cross-border operations. Through Rain’s infrastructure, Bujeti customers will have access to USD-denominated corporate cards that can be used for online and offline payments across more than 175 million merchant locations worldwide.

Partnership Strengthens Corporate Payments

The new card infrastructure will give businesses access to virtual and physical corporate cards with set spending limits, real-time monitoring and clear separation of funds. The system also includes compliance, fraud monitoring, dispute management and reporting.

For African businesses, the expanded card infrastructure will support everyday expenses as well as international transactions. Companies can use the cards to pay global vendors, manage advertising spend and handle other business costs across borders.

“Being chosen as one of five companies globally for the first cohort of Rain’s Agentic Startup Program is a strong signal of where Bujeti is headed,” said Cossi Achille Arouko, CEO and Co-founder of Bujeti.

“We’re building an agentic finance platform, one where finance work runs itself under the controls teams have set,” Arouko said. He added that card issuing is central to the platform and that the partnership with Rain gives African companies card infrastructure that supports how they operate.

Sophia Goldberg, Head of Payments at Rain, said Bujeti is applying agents to real finance operations, with card issuing providing an important area where the technology can be applied.

“Rain supports agent-initiated transactions with controls and compliance features,” Goldberg said. She added that the infrastructure gives African businesses confidence to allow their agents to make payments globally.

BRAIN Supports Automated Finance Operations

The partnership also strengthens Bujeti’s wider focus on agentic finance through BRAIN, its Real-time Artificial Intelligence Network.

BRAIN includes four AI Teammates: Chaser, Fetch, Watchdog and Concierge. They handle areas including document intelligence, accounts receivable, financial controls and finance knowledge.

As spending moves through Bujeti’s corporate cards, BRAIN can use real-time financial information to enforce company policies, flag potential risks and support finance teams. Rain’s card infrastructure provides the payment foundation for these processes.

Bujeti brings expense management, corporate cards, payment automation, invoicing, multi-currency accounts, payroll and tax management into one platform.

More than 2,000 companies use Bujeti to manage their financial operations. The company serves businesses across Nigeria, Kenya and Francophone Africa.

Bujeti has raised $2 million from Y Combinator (W23), Entrée Capital, Voltron Capital, Unpopular VC and Kima Ventures.
